Performance Work Clothing was established back in 1997 (the same year Titanic caused a splash in cinemas and the Spice Girls started ruling the airwaves,) when our MD discovered the Swedish workwear brand Fristads. The high-quality, low cost brand wasn’t known over here back then and Tim wanted to introduce it to the UK’s small businesses and self-employed – you guys basically. So that’s exactly what he did.
We set up this here website to allow everyone the opportunity to purchase what was, at that point, only available to big businesses and our Scandinavian chums.
From there we expanded - now offering Carhartt, Projob, V-Tech and Haix workwear and safety shoes. Every brand we stock is designed and manufactured with the same attention to detail and quality.
The company, and the people? Well the great news is that we are a part of Uniform Express one of the UK’s powerhouse suppliers of all things workwear

What about you?
We know you’re busy people so we always try to offer next day delivery for our bestselling work trousers, jackets and coveralls while anything we don’t have on hand we will get to you within 7-10 days thanks in no small part to the bulging warehouses of our suppliers.
Our goal is to offer as full a range as possible to help everyone find the right workwear for their unique job.
Green is good
The textile industry is notoriously unfriendly to the environment. We only work with Oeko-Tex certified suppliers and we also have our own certificates too - ISO 14001.
We’re not perfect, but we’re always improving.
Hey, sometimes our website does funny things. Sometimes our major suppliers run out of stock or increase prices without telling us. Occasionally we don’t get the right information to our customers on delivery times... and we hate that.
We’re great fans of feedback because we want you to be happy every time you place an order with us. We can do everything in our power to make your experience with us seamlessly great but without hearing from you we might miss something.
So far we’ve reduced our inventory to focus sales, stock and purchasing power on the website to make it more responsive and streamlined. We’re investing time and money to integrate the web with our order management system (currently a real-life human called “Mandy”)
We’re always trying to improve our product and sizing information and we offer a 21 day returns policy. But we love to hear from you, our customers.
